We combine healthspan-focused diagnostics, digital tools, and clinician-supported guidance to help members take proactive control of their long-term health.

At the core of our mission is the integration of biomarkers, medical evidence, and individualized recommendations — and we believe AI can significantly amplify this vision. We’re now looking for a senior AI expert to help us shape and implement this capability.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Knowledge & Prompt Engineer specializing in medical and health applications to join our innovative healthspan startup, Chirayou. The ideal candidate will expertly interact with existing large language models (LLMs), specifically Google's MedPaLM 2 and other general LLMs, while building and maintaining a structured and validated medical knowledge base tailored to Chirayou's holistic health improvement goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Curate, validate, and populate a comprehensive medical knowledge base focused on biomedical markers, treatments, and interactions.
• Design clear database schemas, integrating structured knowledge into relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Expertly craft and optimize prompts to extract consistent, accurate, and reliable outputs from existing medical and general-purpose LLMs.
• Collaborate closely with backend and product teams to integrate structured AI-generated insights into Chirayou’s user-facing applications.
• Generate personalized health insights, commentary, and actionable recommendations by interpreting patient-specific data through LLM prompts.
• Continually enhance the knowledge base's accuracy, consistency, and relevance to maintain Chirayou’s competitive advantage.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• Proven experience in prompt engineering for large language models (e.g., MedPaLM, GPT variants, Gemini).
• Strong knowledge of medical and health data structures, medical databases, and data validation methods.
• Familiarity with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL), schema definition, and structured data management.
• Proficiency in data extraction and interpretation for medical or clinical use cases.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially working with multidisciplinary teams including developers and healthcare domain experts.

Preferred

• Experience with medical literature databases (PubMed, SemMedDB) and scientific literature validation.
• Background or familiarity with Python and FastAPI backend integrations.
• Experience in health tech startups or digital health applications is a strong plus.
